Owner and lead stylist at the Sanctuary, Sharmila McDonnell began her hairdressing career back in 1996. She took over at the Sanctuary 15 months ago and has been steadily building a flourishing local business. Sharmila has worked both in Australia and overseas with her most notable time based in the UK where she worked for a major chain of hairdressing salons. She undertook a number of roles, including developing new seasons styles and then teaching and sharing the new looks with over 30 salons. On returning to Australia, Sharmila set towards achieving the goal of running her own salon. The Sanctuary is a realisation of this goal. Sharmila describes the Sanctuary as, a "modern, warm and relaxing environment where customers can unwind and leave the salon feeling beautiful and pampered."
